Aquatix
International announces the New AquaCam HDX Series of
underwater video housings for camcorders. The 2011 HDX
Series retains all of the rugged features of the prior
EX Series housings, plus they are smaller in size and
LCD viewing ability is optimized for small
High-Definition (HD) camcorders, including
Standard-Definition (SD) camcorders as well. The new
Camera Tray is elevated for improved LCD viewing and
can be configured lower for larger/taller camcorders,
and used with an optional secondary LCD monitor, if
desired. Other enduring features of the rugged AquaCam
HDX Series include a reliable single-seal (X-Ring
Seal) design with no hardware penetrations through the
housing, visual seal compression inspection and
verification, a velcro ballast holder that accepts
standard 2-4 lb dive weights, adjustable foam-grip
handles, security locks on all latches, and front and
rear flat ports with guards.
The
AquaCam HDX is a rugged, expedition-grade video
housing for scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and
other water sports. It is depth-rated to 200 feet and
universally accepts most current and older camcorders.
Control options include a full-function electronic
control system for all camcorders equipped with a
A/V-Remote or LANC jack, a universal mechanical
control system that manipulates the record start/stop
button on most camcorders, or no controls for basic
watertight video capability -- ideal for those who
prefer the simplicity of shooting lots of video and
editing later.
Factory-direct
prices start at $349 for a Basic AquaCam HDX (with no
controls), $449 for a Mechanical AquaCam HDX, and $599
for an Electronic AquaCam HDX. Complete product
information is available at www.aquatix.com or by
