UR/Pro Underwater Color-Correction Filters - UR/Pro filters are the choice of professionals around the world, and are the best way to restore the natural color balance to your underwater images. They are specifically designed for underwater color correction and are most effective in depths between 15 and 80 feet (4.6m to 24m), or depths over 7.5 feet (2.3m) if shooting from the surface (snorkeling). Note that for shallow water depths under about 12 feet, or depths under 7.5 feet if shooting from the surface (snorkeling), a color-correction filter is not required and should not be used, especially in lesser depths.
You must determine the desired Filter Type (CY or GR) from the following guide: CY - for use with natural light in Blue-green tropical fresh or saltwater (i.e. the Caribbean). GR - for use with natural light in Green algae fresh or saltwater (i.e. The Great Lakes). Specify the Filter Type in Comments area of shopping cart.
Camera-Mounted Filters - Standard threaded sizes are 25mm, 27mm, 30mm (Plastic Only), 30.5mm, 37mm, 40.5mm (Plastic Only), 43mm (Glass Only), 46mm, 49mm (Glass Only), 52mm, 55mm (Glass Only), and 58mm in thread diameter. External Filter Disks - These filter disks are velcro-mounted over the lens area on the outside of the housing port. They can be removed for shooting in shallow water (under 12 feet) and reattached for normal filter depths (15-80 feet). Disk sizes are 86mm and 100mm (diameter), and are available in Optical Plastic only. The 100mm size (larger coverage area) is recommended for camcorder lens sizes over about 46mm (lens thread diameter), especially when used with a wide-angle adapter lens.
Camera-mounted filters are available in Optical Plastic or Optical Glass lens material (some in Plastic or Glass Only - see sizes above). External Filter Disks are Plastic Only. Filters are drop-shipped from UR/Pro.
